Web 2.0

Overall, the Web 2.0 experience has been a really good one. I loved the self paced style, and that there was something for everyone, whether you are a novice to blogging or not. As a Facebook afficionado, I was also pleased that others got the chance to give it the thumbs up or down. I didn't try Twitter, it just seems like an abbreviated form of Facebook to me, though I think the challenge of 140 characters is well within my reach, since I text message my two teenage daughters, and that is the limiting parameter there, too.

One of my favorite tools, that I am still getting acquainted with, is the Tagging tool "delicious". I love that you can tag things, whether at work or home, at a friend's house or your own home, and have it follow you. Without that tool, I felt like I needed to print things, then file them... only, it would usually get filed in the "File 13", and even when found, not necessarily know why I felt the need...

With "delicious", I can tag, and create folders, so that it all makes more sense. Super cool!!!

I also found the article about help with passwords very, very useful.

Thanks, Web 2.0 Committee!!!

Fat-Blasting Cootess is Challenging my Mojo!

The coming week will bring many challenges, but none like the one posted by my dear friend, the "Cootess of Fairfield"! Apparently she thinks that she is going to win the "fat-blasting-challenge" of 2009, but she doesn't realize how motivated this blogger is...or does she? Survival of the fittest, baby!

Twitter, eeep!

Facebook is much more fun for me, I am linked to people I actually want to hear more about, and have a chance to get more information than one line at a time, even though it's little updates are similar to "tweets".

I also enjoy the ability to share links to YouTube, or articles from online magazines, webizines and newspapers/blogs.

The very idea of having another little thing like Twitter to monitor and update is enough to have me throwing my hands up, "Why?"

RSS Feeds

I can't decide if my RSS links should have more to do with "Official Library Business", or my own personal fun stuff...so, big surprise, fun stuff wins!

Spring Fever!

I have Spring Fever! It is warming up outside, I am dying to get out into it. I know, my grass needs cutting, fertilizing and a pre-emergent weeding. But I am also hoping to get on my bike this weekend, and possibly even venture out to Pony Pastures. Anyone up for a picnic?

I blame Daylight Savings time for a little bit of this feeling of euphoria। I love leaving work with it still light outside, and am hoping to channel some of this energy into my running and gardening. My daughter and I bought a couple of rose bushes to plant on the grave of our recently departed love of a cat, Pumpkin. The roses remind me of her, they are a lovely apricot, with a blush at the edges.

Well, I have been told that I drive like a "bat out of hell" before, but I am going to try to modify my behavior. Driving so much, I don't even realize that I do, but it is time to s l o w down, so that is my goal. I am doing everything I can to make sure I am out the door with plenty of time, but my life is so busy, I always seem to carve it out of my drive-time. Somebody, help me! Can I help it if driving the Mini is more fun? Who wouldn't want to drive fast when you can zip in and out of traffic? I defy anyone who has driven one to say that it is no fun!!! You can't, it is, and that is all there is to it. I even made my Mini a bracelet, and she wears it on her gear-shift. Now, I just need a piece of string, tied around my finger, to remind me to s l o w down...
(If you click on the link, you will see me and Mini, enjoying a winter wonderland...)
